The Nobel Committee in Stockholm on Monday officially announced that two doctors were nominated for this year.

Nobel prize for 2 in cancer research into cancer treatment. James P. Allison of the United States and Tasuku Honjo of Japan have been selected for the Nobel Prize in Medicine.

James P. Allison and Tasuke Honjo were awarded the Nobel Prize for their work on the treatment of the most lethal cancer in the form of ‘inhibition of negative immune regulation’.

Immune Checkpoint Therapy was developed by these two scientists. This has revolutionized the treatment of cancer.

The Nobel Committee believes that a new chapter in cancer treatment is being developed. 

The two doctors will receive the Nobel Prize, as well as a cash prize of 9 million Swedish kroner (£ 780,000). Annually, the first Nobel Prize in Medicine category is announced.

The Nobel Prize is awarded annually to those who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of medicine, physics, chemistry, literature, peace and finance. 

The Nobel Peace Prize is held annually on the 10th of December, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel (founder of the Nobel Prize).

For some reason, the Nobel Assembly has announced that it will not award the Nobel Prize in Literature this year.

The awards will be announced on October 2 in Physics and on October 3 in Chemistry. 

The Nobel Peace Prize on October 5 will announce the winners of the Nobel Peace Prize in Economic Affairs on October 8.
