Kacheguda train accident. 15 Injured, Driver Trapped Inside. Case filed against locomotive pilot Chandrasekhar.

Chandrasekhar, who is being treated at a care hospital in Nampally, is currently in critical condition. After Chandrashekhar’s recovery, police will take his testimony.

It was reported that the MTS Express collided with the Hunter Intercity at Hyderabad’s Kacheguda railway station two days ago. 

A senior official of the SCR said they were using cutters to rescue the driver. The accident occurred as the MMTS train apparently overshot the signal, they said.

6 coaches of the MMTS service and three coaches of the Hundry Express have been damaged.

The 12 passengers were rushed to Osmania General Hospital, of whom two were discharged,” the SCR said in a press release.

Senior officials of the SCR, along with medical and accident relief vans, undertook relief and restoration work, it said.

Following the accident, one train was cancelled and another was diverted while five more have been partially cancelled.

A case has been registered against the MMS locomotive pilot Chandrasekhar for failing to observe the signal at the station. 

The case was filed under several sections on the complaint of RPF and Station Manager. 

Chandrasekhar, who is being treated at a care hospital in Nampally, is currently in critical condition. After Chandrashekhar’s recovery, police will take his testimony.

The high-level committee of the South Central Railway has been set up following the accident. Several trains were disrupted due to the accident. 

However, all the trains are running smoothly as the renovation work ends on Tuesday afternoon.
